In real situations, exact prediction of complicated systems is impossible, because small disturbances can radically change the system´s behavior. On the other hand, in appropriate conditions, a small force can trigger a big change.
implications:
Long term prediction cannot be made only by extrapolation of existing parameters. Instead, one should take change and unpredictability as given factors, and look for situations in which a small intervention can make a big effect.
